Shelter Pup– Raja – Part 1
It’s sad that the shelter, where she lives in a cage with a concrete floor, is the happiest place that Raja has known. However, a cliché says, it’s all relative. The shelter is dry and warm. Raja feels safe and has food. Best of all, the people who come to see her each day seem to like her.
That wasn’t true of whoever had control of Raja’s life before. That person abandoned the sweet hound-Boxer mix to the horrific abuse of Hurricane Helene. That person didn’t care that 18-month-old Raja weighed 39 pounds, not enough weight to stand against hurricane-force winds.
That person didn’t care about Raja’s terror or broken heart. Raja’s shelter friends care, but dogs can’t stay forever. Raja’s been there since September.
