Shelter Dog – Duke
Everyone has a flaw, but it shouldn’t turn into a fatal flaw. Duke, a happy-go-lucky, friendly, neutered, six-year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever shouldn’t be doomed for a mistake, a behavior that was bred into him. Duke is a retriever, a bird dog. His instincts tell him that chickens are birds, not fellow family members.
Duke went after his family’s chickens. He couldn’t help himself. He couldn’t stop himself. And his hunting-do abilities were excellent. His people had to choose between the flock and Duke. The handsome, clueless dog lost.
As his goofy, sincere smile shows, this fellow is a great companion and best friend. He’d fit into most homes, most families. Duke would be a good, easy-to-live-with pet, if there were no pet chickens or birds.
