Shelter Cat – Gracee
We humans are optimistic. We believe that we’ll always stay healthy and independent. Gracee, a gorgeous, gold and white, spayed, de-clawed, seven-year-old cat had a human who must have felt that way. And Gracee, like all trusting pets, believed that her human would always care for her. Pets are sure humans control fate.
Unfortunately, Gracee and her human have both learned that their beliefs were wrong. Gracee’s owner is in a care facility. Gracee is in the shelter, grieving and afraid. Her grief was unavoidable, but her fear was caused by a choice. Gracee was de-clawed. She can’t protect herself against other pets.
Gracee understands she’s at other animals’ mercy. So, she can’t stand to be near them. She needs to be an only pet.
