Shelter Dog – Piper
Statistically, Piper is one of the world’s unluckiest dogs. In one case, the spayed housedog has the most common problem that dooms pets . She’s in the shelter because her owner is moving. That’s the most offered excuse for leaving someone, who believed that she was a family member, behind. Being housebroken, leash-trained and good with kids and cats didn’t save Piper.
On the other hand, Piper’s entire breed, the Shar Pei, has an uncommon problem. Her breed nearly vanished. In 1978, the Guiness Book of Records listed them as the rarest of breeds, with 60 in the world. A few, smuggled out of China, restarted the breed.
However, Piper isn’t a statistic. Like every other homeless, heartbroken dog, she simply longs to go home.
